ColonSim

A programmable colon dynamics simulator for endoscopy training and medical device testing.

ColonSim recreates realistic bowel motion, anatomical geometry, and measurable pressure patterns in a controllable physical model.

It helps clinicians train under dynamic conditions and enables device teams to benchmark new technologies

in a repeatable environment.

Why ColonSim?

Current endoscopy training tools are often either virtual, static, or specimen-based. Virtual simulators lack true physical tissue interaction.

Static phantoms cannot reproduce active bowel motion.

Ex vivo models are difficult to standardise and repeat.

ColonSim bridges this gap by bringing programmable physiological motion into a real, compliant colon model.

Realistic Internal Anatomy

ColonSim provides a repeatable physical environment for dynamic endoscopy training and device testing.

It supports programmable peristaltic motion, configurable anatomical shapes, internal endoscopic visualisation, and pressure-mapped validation. Users can select predefined motility scenarios or customise motion patterns for specific training and R&D needs.

Dynamic Endoscopic View

Users can observe and interact with programmable bowel motion from an endoscopic perspective, making training and testing closer to real procedural conditions.

Measurable Pressure Patterns

ColonSim generates repeatable pressure patterns across time and distance. Representative pressure maps show how different motility scenarios can be reproduced and compared under controlled conditions.

Representative prototype data. Further validation is ongoing.
